Youth Justice promotes the rehabilitation of young people involved in offending, with the aim of reducing crime in the community.The Victorian Government has announced funding to establish a two-year metropolitan-based trial, the Enhanced Bail Supervision and Support (EBSS), to enhance Youth Justice's capacity to monitor and support young people on bail. The EBSS model is underpinned by the existing Youth Justice Case Management framework which prioritises:partnering with children, families and community supports to promote rehabilitationaddressing criminogenic risk and needs to reduce the likelihood of re-offendingutilising strengths based and culturally supported approachesThe Practice Lead sits within the broader Youth Justice Bail and Court Advice team and will provide expertise in case management practice.The role is responsible for:Supporting EBSS suitability assessments and delivering high-quality, specialised court advice.Providing practice guidance and operational support in a collaborative co-case management model for young people on EBSS.Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships by leading the coordination of care teams and managing complex care team practice.Providing feedback to Team Managers and General Managers regarding training, policy and practice evaluation and improvement processes for the EBSS service.Providing oversight and supervision of a small team of Case Officers, who are responsible for providing technical expertise on electronic monitoring and conducting case support work with young people and their families.The Practice Lead has oversight of a case support service delivered by staff working outside of usual business hours.
