Role Summary: PSC is seeking enthusiastic, technically oriented engineer(s) with relevant power systems studies experience to join our Australia based team. The Candidates' primary expertise should be in power systems analysis and studies that model the behaviour of power systems and their various components under steady state and perturbed conditions.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct power system analysis and generator connection feasibility studies Prepare detailed technical reports Mentor, coach and develop junior engineers Coordinate and execute studies globally with PSC colleagues Manage client expectations through regular communications and responsiveness Minimum Expertise: Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering is required with a preference for a specialisation in power systems Expertise in power systems analysis in generation, transmission and/or distribution systems using network simulation software, particularly PSSE, PSCAD and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory Experience in several of the following areas: Classical power system analysis & modelling including load flow, transient stability, short circuit analysis, and small signal assessments Power generation and transmission studies such as generator connections, voltage stability, feasibility studies, power station and control system design, and network planning Steady state and transient model development, testing, and field validation of the performance of generator control models Preparation of long-term, multi-scenario network development plans Good knowledge of grid connection policies and particularly Australian National Electricity Rules (NER) Preferred Expertise: Ability to work to deadlines and exceed client expectations Minimum 1-3 years of consultancy experience Python programming Excellent written and verbal communication skills – in particular, clear and unambiguous email and technical document writing Excellent presentation skills to support and represent PSC in industry forums, working groups and conferences as well as client presentations Ask us about our amazing culture!
