Postdoctoral Scientist About you As a Postdoctoral Scientist you will lead the characterization of novel mouse models and employ cellular and molecular techniques to identify and modify genes and pathways involved in various vascular diseases such as aortic aneurysms and atherosclerosis.
You will have access to cutting-edge equipment for high throughput phenotypic and drug screening through Victor Chang's Innovation Center, as well as to core facilities equipped with light sheet microscopy, microCT, and 7T-MRI.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic investigator who aims to establish an independent academic career in the next few years.
Start the New Year with a brand new opportunity!
The role The Vascular Epigenetics Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist with experience in vascular research using genetically modified mice and with a strong cellular/molecular background.
Preferences will be given to candidates familiar with and able to perform small animal vascular surgeries such as wire injury models.
In this role, you will supervise and train junior staff and students in the lab, and will have the opportunities to apply for external grant funding.
You will also be involved in ethics applications, and lead/contribute to manuscript writing.
This is a 2-year position with the possibility of extension.
