We create, share and apply scientific knowledge to improve health by building new technology for cancer imaging and targeted radiation therapy.
We engage with industry, hospitals, international collaborators and universities to forge relationships that help take our projects from lab bench to patient bedside.We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (level A/B) to work on a research project harnessing the power of artificial-intelligence (AI) to improve radiation therapy treatment for cancer patients.In this project you will build new targeting technologies based on AI that solve the challenges of tumour motion during radiation therapy.
The role is based at the Image X Institute and will be led by Prof Paul Keall.Your key responsibilities will be to:Advance the science and clinical practice of cancer imaging and targeted radiation therapyCreate, develop, experimentally and clinically implement mechanistic and AI based algorithmsSupport the acquisition and analysis of clinical data, and an imaging, software and equipment infrastructureAbout youAn awarded or near completed Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g., Medical Physics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering)Demonstrated experience or knowledge in one or more of the following:Software and mathematical algorithm development, especially in artificial intelligenceWorking with X-ray equipment, linear accelerators, MRI scanners, PET, or other scientific/medical devicesWorking with a variety of experts in different fields (e.g., radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, physicists, engineers, clinicians etc.
