About Us Engineering at Murdoch University is part of the Discipline of Engineering and Energy, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including a new Masters program launched in 2023.
The teaching approach emphasises practical, hands-on learning, with workshop-based activities to build professional skills, a focus highly valued by the industry.

The Role We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with enthusiasm for robotics, machine vision and renewable energy.
Experience working with robotics and associated programming or a strong background in renewable energy is required.
Industry experience or evidence of working with industry is desirable as you will be working with Engineers and stakeholders across the energy industry.
Key Aspects of the Project Robotic Ground Vehicle:

Testing, integration and deployment of a Clearpath Husky robotics platform.
Image Analysis Software:

Develop software to analyse images captured by the robot.
Machine Learning for Fault Detection:

Leverage machine learning algorithms to identify problematic PV modules, including issues like cracks, dirt, or malfunctioning cells.
Navigation with Machine Vision:

Enable the robot to navigate the solar farm autonomously using machine vision techniques.
Interpret surroundings, avoid obstacles, and follow optimal paths.
Data Visualisation:

Present findings through effective data visualization techniques.
