At FGS Global, we believe research is the cornerstone of any communications campaign.
The Research & Insights practice specializes in using opinion, market, and digital research to inform public affairs campaigns, branding efforts, and corporate strategy.
The role of senior associate involves working closely with other members of the Research & Insights team and across the firm to plan, execute, and analyze a variety of research methodologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Help to manage multiple qualitative and quantitative research workstreams simultaneously
Manage administrative tasks on client projects, including setting up contracts, sending invoices, and scheduling and taking notes during internal and external meetings
Develop first drafts of research instruments based on guidance and direction from a project manager, including scoping documents, survey questionnaires, and qualitative discussion guides
Alongside a manager, analyze large datasets and turn them into charts and graphs in PowerPoint for client reports and presentations
Collaborate with and manage research vendors, including recruiting partners for qualitative projects and fieldwork partners for surveys
Develop recruiting criteria for research participants
Develop instructions for survey vendors to build crosstabs and topline documents
Manage and monitor field progress to ensure studies are accurate and completed on time
Proofread client deliverables, including qualitative and quantitative data
Conduct desk research
Conduct social media and other digital conversation analyses
Travel occasionally for research engagements
ATTRIBUTES
2-4 years of experience in the public opinion/market research field or an advanced degree in statistics or opinion research required
Past agency experience strongly preferred, including work at a PR, marketing, consulting, communications, or polling firm
Strong team player with initiative, resourcefulness, and desire to work hard
Exceptionally detail-oriented with a keen eye for data, text, and visual content
Strong writer and analytical thinker
Strong time management skills, with the ability to follow through on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Can quickly adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with Research & Insights team members, other FGS Global staff, and clients
Cross-cultural understanding and insight
Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint
Familiarity with social and digital analytic tools and analysis, but not required
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
District of Columbia Salary Range: $75,000—$90,000 USD
