THE ROLE:
The APS6 Portfolio Monitoring Advisor provides essential support to the Portfolio Monitoring and Control team to ensure the Portfolios alignment with its strategic objectives. Tasked with supporting the delivery of outcomes, this position is instrumental in maintaining rigorous standards for processes and outputs, documenting and managing changes to baselined measures and proactively addressing risks and issues that could impede progress.
Key functions of the Monitoring Advisor include administering risk and issue management frameworks, assisting in change control and quality management efforts and contributing to the financial and budget oversight of the Portfolio. This role collaborates closely with the teams across the STS Portfolio to ensure comprehensive program and project assurance across the STS Program and Projects, supporting the Senior Advisor, Portfolio Monitoring and Control in escalating concerns and facilitating effective interventions through the Portfolio governance structure.
By providing change management advice and facilitating the escalation of critical risks and issues, the APS6 Portfolio Monitoring Advisor enhances the decision-making capabilities of Portfolio governance. This support ensures that strategic initiatives proceed smoothly and efficiently, reinforcing the Portfolios capacity to achieve its intended outcomes and advance the objectives of the STS reforms.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Establishing and overseeing robust risk and issue management processes, ensuring timely identification, documentation and escalation of potential risks and issues within the Portfolio.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to develop effective mitigation and resolution strategies.
• Supporting the implementation of change control processes including the provision of change management advice, maintaining high standards of quality management across the Portfolio and escalating concerns to the Portfolio governance structure for informed decision-making
• Contributing to the documentation and coordination of changes to ensure compliance with baselined measures and Portfolio objectives.
• Supporting financial and budget management of the Portfolio, monitoring expenditures and assisting in the allocation of resources to ensure projects and programs are delivered within budgetary constraints.
• Working closely with program and project delivery teams across the Portfolio, and partner agencies to facilitate program and project assurance activities.
• Facilitate assurance and compliance oversight, maintaining the integrity of the STS Portfolio by ensuring all processes, changes and outputs rigorously adhere to established standards and methodologies.
• Manage documentation and information by preparing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation to facilitate effective reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
