Rare leadership opportunity in our Property Portfolio Management team VIC location Manage a team of high performing Credit Analysts and Senior Credit Analysts in our Commercial Banking segment How will I help? The Portfolio Manager is an important leadership role within the Property Portfolio Management team in Commercial Banking and is critical to achieving Westpac's vision. You are primarily accountable for working across the Westpac and Bank of Melbourne brandsoperating in the commercial property lending segment to oversee a large portfolio of asset backed Investment and Development lending transactions, including new deal assessment for New To Bank opportunities, conducting annual reviews of customer connections and reviewing customer and sector risks;and providing expert insight and advice across the property segment.
With at least 10 years or more experience working within a bank or non-bank financial institution, you will be familiar with current market trends in Property Lending and have a strong understanding of construction and development risk as well as investment lending to different classes of property, including; residential, industrial, office and retail sub-sectors. A degree qualification is desirable in either accounting, economics or property disciplines.
You will lead a team of Credit Analysts and matrix deal teams including sales and credit partners and their support teams in the preparation and execution of complex customer requirements.

What do I need?
We're looking for a seasoned Commercial or Institutional Banker with experience in leadership and coaching. You will have strong Business Banking credit knowledge as well as being a subject matter expert with high value and complex Commercial Property Finance deals. You'll be commercially focussed and risk astute, bringing passion and energy as well as a good understanding of the financial services market, credit risk and compliance. You will able to hit the ground running and get up to speed within the first three months and be able to represent the team on a local and national scale.
