We expect our suppliers to share our commitment to sustainability and to conduct business responsibly.Reporting to our Head of Procurement, Qantas Group is seeking a Portfolio Manager (Responsible Procurement) to serve as an integral part of the Group Procurement team.In this role, you will be responsible for developing our Responsible Procurement strategy and program. This program will support Qantas Group in delivering on its sustainability commitments including emissions, circular economy, biodiversity and nature, human rights, accessibility, and supplier diversity.You will operationalise the program in collaboration with key stakeholders across the Qantas, Jetstar, and Loyalty business segments. You will report to our Head of Procurement and serve as an integral part of the Group Procurement team.You will possess a comprehensive understanding of sustainability principles, particularly as they relate to the procurement of products and services.Key Responsibilities Include:Develop and operationalise Qantas Group's responsible procurement strategy and program and incorporate responsible procurement into business practices.Drive continued compliance with relevant regulation, support reporting obligations, and work with suppliers to implement sustainable practices and monitor progress.Develop supplier performance metrics and data reporting that align with Qantas Group's commitments and obligations including emissions.Establish supplier engagement processes and standards to evaluate and select suppliers based on sustainability criteria.Prepare analysis and high-quality briefs and reports on complex sustainability matters for senior management.Understand developments (e.g. legislation, research, technology) that may impact responsible procurement and communicate in a clear and simple manner.Lead our supplier diversity program. Our program seeks to promote and increase the participation of First Nations owned businesses in our supply chain.Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and other external stakeholders to ensure alignment and to drive innovation through partnerships.Advocate and educate responsible procurement practices and provide guidance to ensure sustainability is always incorporated into business decisions.Lead and promote our culture of procuring responsibly, through a clear program and transparent reporting.You'll have:10+ years' experience in strategy development and execution, commercial management, or audit and compliance in a corporate or consulting environment.Experience in or working with sustainability or responsible sourcing teams, and knowledge of the global and domestic supply chain sustainability environment.A proven track record of leading successful company-wide transformation programs, preferably in the sustainability or supply chain space.Experience assessing sustainability performance and driving positive outcomes and continuous improvement, particularly in supply chains.Strong analytical skills and solutions focused with an ability to track progress against commitments and identify opportunities for improvement.Effective problem-solving skills in difficult situations, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence at all levels.Ability to work within tight deadlines and limited resources and budget, adjust to changing priorities and balance short-term needs with long-term strategy.Why Qantas?You'll join a team where creativity and passion are encouraged.
