We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Manager at our Perth CBD office, on a full-time permanent basis.
About this role The Portfolio Management Office Manager is responsible for aiding the design and leading the operation of the PMO, which provides orchestration and assurance services over Western Power's Clean Energy Link (CEL) Program and other Transmission expansion programs/projects.
This PMO is required to drive a considered and accelerated expansion of capability, systems and processes ensuring Western Power moves effectively across the whole portfolio of studies and projects in execution. And to lead the strategic approach to supply chain management, oversee long lead commitments, and coordinate strategic land acquisitions and planned outages of the network to enable new transmission and related connections.
This position is accountable for providing technical thought leadership in driving the successful planning and execution of the portfolio/s, and all interdependent projects against targeted outcomes. These include overall governance, the achievement of milestones and timeframes, required resourcing, financial performance including cost, budgets and benefits, and stakeholder expectations.
This position will manage the PMO Area, which will include oversight of internal resources, and an external vendor who will be engaged to provide an accelerated capability uplift to the design and initial establishment of a fit for purpose PMO.
In delivering major transmission projects, the PMO will provide:
End-to-end planning and coordination of the CEL Program (prioritisation and sequencing).Program delivery governance - performance tracking, compliance, and reporting.Proactive support and assurance on individual projects through development stages and gates, business case preparation, and delivery.Portfolio resource scheduling and planning.Portfolio risk management, including the identification and scoping of initiatives to manage risks and realise opportunities (synergies, savings and/or schedule acceleration) across the portfolio.About you We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Business Management, Economics, Project Management, Finance, or related discipline.A seasoned professional with extensive experience in senior program/project management roles, with broad and or deep range of knowledge and expertise gained through comprehensive experience.Significant experience in managing large scale complex programs of concurrent projects with multiple workstreams.Proven successful program delivery outcomes within tight timeframes within a complex environment.Strong negotiation and relationship skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.Strong knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs.Ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve win-win outcomes.Ability to lead and influence project stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.Ability to condense multiple information streams to make informed project decisions.Proven leadership and team building skills when managing large and complex programs and projects.Strategic perspective, strong analytical and business acumen capability, ability to think conceptually and ability to apply business context to when generating solutions.Our people are our priority Our people play a vital role in creating an innovative, safe, and supportive workplace, living our values and delivering exceptional service to the communities in which we operate.
