Are you a skilled poly welder looking to work on a significant infrastructure project?
We are seeking an experienced poly welder to join a dedicated team for a water treatment facility project in Rockhampton.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an essential project while being home every night, with the potential for more work in the new year.
The position works on a 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster working 10-hour days (6:30am - 5:00pm).
The position is available to start immediately and offers an attractive rate.
Key Responsibilities: Perform Poly Welding: Use butt welding, heat fusion, or electrofusion techniques to join polyethylene (PE) pipes to project standards.
Prepare and Align Pipes: Measure, cut, and align poly pipes for welding with precision and accuracy.
Inspect and Maintain Equipment: Regularly check and clean welding equipment for safety and optimal performance.
Quality Assurance: Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications.
Site Setup and Safety: Establish a safe work environment by following all site safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE.
Collaborate with Other Trades: Work closely with plumbers, senior staff, and other team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
Documentation and Reporting: Record welding activities, including materials used and test results, while maintaining compliance documentation.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform pressure tests on welded joints to identify and resolve any issues.
Assist with General Labour: Support other site tasks such as trenching, pipe laying, and general civil works as needed.
Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in poly welding, including heat fusion or electrofusion techniques.
Construction skills with knowledge of plumbing and pipe laying.
Experience reading construction plans (advantageous).
Construction White Card (mandatory).
C Class driver's license (advantageous).
Telehandler ticket (advantageous but not essential).
