About the Role
Play an integral role in the delivery of professional, effective, and appropriate mining site trade services within Ahrens. Represent the Ahrens Group to our customers and further develop our reputation and brand as a respected contracting organisation at Olympic Dam, while developing strong customer relationships.
Ensure that all mechanical works carried out are compliant with all relevant standards and that safety and quality systems are adhered to. This role is offered on a 13-8 roster, working shifts up to 12 hours.
Key Responsibilities
Extensive knowledge of HDPE pipe and fittings
Installation and maintenance of dewatering bores, pumps, and associated infrastructure
Experience using a wide range of welding machines, such as McElroy, Trac star, Dixon, and Ritmo, and experience welding pipes up to 630mm
Able to interpret drawings and work unsupervised
Good focus on quality and attention to detail
Manage all pneumatic and hydrostatic testing to a high standard
Produce detailed and timely reports as directed by the pressure testing supervisor
Fault-finding and problem solving
Pipework flushing and pressure testing
Ensure quality standards are maintained
Inspect and monitor plant equipment as required
Ensure that all tools and equipment are clean and well-maintained
Operate vehicles, plant and equipment, and tools appropriately
Skills and Experience
HDPE Butt Welding & Electrofusion Tickets
Polywelding tickets (Mandatory)
Pipe/Mechanical Fitting - (Desirable)
Construction Induction (white card)
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar position within the mining or construction industry
C class Driver's license and access to own vehicle
Holding current additional high-risk tickets and licenses will be beneficial
Holding current mobile plant tickets will be beneficial
