About the opportunity There is currently one (1) permanent full-time level 6 position and one (1) full-time level 5 position until 2 May 2025 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling. Both positions are within Biosecurity Reform.
About the roles As a Senior Policy Officer/Policy Officer within Biosecurity Reform, you will contribute to the design, development, and coordination of strategic policy initiatives focused on improving Western Australia's biosecurity system and develop policy advice for the Department, Minister, and Government.
The Policy Officer will primarily work on specific policy tasks or components of larger projects, under the guidance of a more senior officer. The Senior Policy Officer will manage larger or more complex policy projects, with flexibility in the role to lead or guide teams.

Experience in policy formulation, advice, implementation, and evaluation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and with external stakeholders. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and urgent tasks in a dynamic environment.
