As the Lead in the Shell Australia Policy and Benefits team, you provide subject matter expertise on Policy and Remuneration to support our Assets and businesses, assure and safeguard our License to Operate within the Country, and ensure a competitive value proposition for our people. In partnership with the Global teams, you'll develop compensation and benefit solutions aligned with our global identity and company values.
You will serve as the primary source of expertise to ensure our remuneration practices and policies are competitive, compliant with current legislation, high value, and easy to administer.
What's the role?
As Policy and Remuneration Lead, you will be the primary source of deep subject matter expertise to ensure our remuneration practices and policies are competitive, are aligned with current legislative requirements, best practices, and simple to administer.
To do this you will:

Collaborate with key business and HR leaders to deliver the local business objectives alongside the global reward strategies at a country level.
Act as the lead remuneration specialist in the country, working with the global rewards team to analyze benchmarking data to develop recommendations for the annual pay review cycle and reactive remuneration interventions as required.
Initiate, manage, and implement HR policy reviews to maintain relevance and support the business agenda.
Partner with other HR leaders to troubleshoot complex scenarios, applying a risk-based approach and strong judgment to reach the best outcome for the business.
Champion effective policy and benefits delivery through the HR Operating Model, building strong relationships with key HR stakeholders.
Participate in HR Policy & Benefits projects at various levels and support capability building within HR, championing continuous improvement projects.
Lead assurance and governance of HR policies, remuneration, and benefits, providing guidance on policy application and administration.
Stay informed on legislative changes and market trends, managing potential implications for HR policies.
Manage third-party contracts and liaise with C&P and legal on policy matters.
Support external representation within industry and functional networks.

What we need from you
As a key custodian of policy and remuneration, you will need not only to role model Shell's Core Values but also have a high level of professionalism and personal integrity. You will need well-developed leadership skills and a passion for coaching and developing others, as well as influencing without direct line accountability.
You will also have:

Proven deep expertise in Policy and Remuneration, with the ability to work closely with business and HR leaders to identify opportunities, assess alternatives, and make recommendations.
Demonstrated expertise in salary benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation structures. Proficient in managing general remuneration concepts and strategies, balancing both local and global considerations.
Demonstrated consulting skills and significant experience in project and change management, including stakeholder management and developing implementation plans.
Ability to deliver strong business cases, influence, and drive good decision-making.
Proven ability to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders in an operational global HR setting. Excellent interpersonal skills, including coaching and mentoring team members and the wider HR Community.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation and presentation of papers to leadership teams (LT).
Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into insights, and strong problem-solving abilities with a learning orientation.

We are keen to support flexible working arrangements, subject to local regulations and legislative frameworks. While the preference is for candidates to be able to work four days per week, we are also open to considering applicants who prefer a three or five-day work week.
