Working with the National Director of Corporate Affairs and Public Policy, the Policy Advisor is responsible for supporting the execution of an impactful national policy strategy that aligns with the St Vincent's 2030 Strategy. The Policy Advisor provides timely, accurate and persuasive advice, underpinned by analysis, contextual awareness and stakeholder consultation. The Advisor has explicit coverage of engagement with the Victorian Government and key Victorian Stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of the role:

Supporting the delivery of St Vincent's policy and advocacy strategy and roadmap: Work within a multi-jurisdictional team that executes a public policy strategy for the entire St Vincent's organisation.
Policy: Working across the St Vincent's organisation to identify, support and advocate for all relevant policy issues. Support the execution of proactive development of public policy, including research activities. Support delivery of responses to emerging public policy issues, including drafting public submissions.
Advocacy: Support the advocacy for St Vincent's with Governments and stakeholders.
Leadership: Role modelling best practice and the St Vincent's 2030 Strategy at all times.
Stakeholder management: Support strong national, state and local stakeholder relationships. Manage a CRM for all St Vincent's public affairs stakeholders. Work closely with internal St Vincent's stakeholders across all Victorian facilities.
Value Measurement and Reporting: Monitor, track and report on public policy issues, including opportunities and our impact.
Collaboration: Being an equal and enthusiastic contributor to the Policy team and the wider Policy, Advocacy and Communications team. Supporting all other activities as directed by the PAC leadership team.

Essential qualifications:

Demonstrated experience of contributing positively to teams.
Demonstrated experience of working in a successful high impact high profile policy team over a minimum of 5-7 years.
Policy experience in a high pressure and complex environment.
Highly developed organisational skills.
A positive, flexible and collaborative working attitude.
Strong existing relationships with the Victorian Government at a senior level.
Professional qualifications and education or experience, including but not limited to, the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree level of attainment in relevant health policy fields.

Desirable qualifications:

Strong expertise in health, aged care and related policy areas.
Professional qualifications and education or experience, including but not limited to, the equivalent of a Master's Degree level of attainment in relevant health policy fields.
