The opportunity

In this role, you will deliver high-level policy advice and conduct complex analysis for the Policy, Practice, and Research Department and relevant RANZCP committees.
This involves developing RANZCP policies, guidelines, submissions, and position statements related to psychiatry and mental health in Australia and New Zealand.
You will undertake advanced research in mental health policy, health systems, and regulations, focusing on the psychiatry workforce, and create written and oral policy briefs for the RANZCP President, CEO, and external stakeholders.
Additionally, you will support the development of the College's consultation processes to ensure that policy incorporates culturally safe and inclusive lived experiences.
The salary range on offer is from $79,900 to $99,900 inclusive of Super and Leave Loading.

About you

You should have proven knowledge and experience in mental health policy development and analysis, with specific expertise in the medical or mental health workforce.
You will be able to apply a strong theoretical understanding of policy levers, including funding models, legislation, regulatory standards, and indicators.
The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential, and familiarity with membership or non-profit organizations is beneficial.
