THE ROLE: Austrade are looking to fill multiple current and expected roles across the Government and Policy Division.
This includes roles focused on: economic security, including investment and industry policy; international engagement on trade and investment; enabling economic opportunities for our First Nations communities; and net zero transformation.
A merit list will be produced.We are seeking engaged, innovative and enthusiastic team players with demonstrated experience building and maintaining good relationships across teams and agencies.
You must be keen to work in a fast-paced, diverse, and cross-cultural workplace and able to produce tangible and practical outcomes.
A demonstrated interest in international relations and/or trade or investment would be advantageous.
Classification: APS 4, APS 5Location: Adelaide - SA, Brisbane - QLD, Canberra - ACT, Melbourne - VIC, Sydney - NSWSalary: $76,527 - $93,700Working across Government, and with Austrade's on and off-shore network, the Government and Policy Division drives alignment of Austrade's activities with the Australian Government's priorities, and brings commercial insights to policy and program development.

DUTIES INCLUDE: Draft evidence-based briefing and contribute to analysis and policy advice to the Minister and Austrade Senior Executive regarding Australia's trade and investment interests.Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, internal and external stakeholders and other government agencies.Coordinate and develop input into Austrade reports, briefs, and government inquiries and submissions.Support the Austrade Executive in whole-of-government processes and policy deliberations that impact the business environment and Australia's international trade, investment, education and visitor economy competitiveness.Support events for visiting foreign delegations, outgoing Ministerial travel, business delegations, and events at multilateral forums, as well as activities around the promotion of free-trade agreements.
Manage administrative or ministerial processes across the agency, including on foreign investment.As an APS5, you will be expected to provide deeper analysis, progress work under more limited direction and take greater responsibility for your own and team outputs.CLOSING DATE:Applications close Wednesday, 6 November 2024, 11:30PM (AEDT) ELIGIBILITY:Australian Citizenship - Our successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.Security Clearance - Our successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
