YOUR ROLE The Cross-Dock Operations Supervisor (Planning & Fleet) is responsible for overseeing and managing the afternoon/evening planning and fleet operations to ensure the safe, accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of goods.
This role involves coordinating with drivers, fleet controllers, and administrators, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and addressing any operational challenges. The role will also monitor performance metrics, implement cost-effective strategies, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective logistics management.
Span of hours will be Mon-Fri, 4 pm – 12 am.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Specifically, you will:
Accurately process shipments in line with customer requirements, ensuring they are completed as per current work instructions and within set KPI timeframes.Maintain timely and accurate communication with customers (both internal and external), drivers, and management.Monitor all inbound freight scanning activities, validating quantities and addressing discrepancies as far as practically possible.Ensure stock screen accuracy, confirm outstanding delivery (COD) information, and investigate system-critical reports such as unmanifested or partially completed consignments via our Transport Management System (TMS).Issue breach and non-conformance reports as part of driver breach management requirements.Seek out and implement opportunities to reduce domestic transport costs.WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Our ideal candidate has solid experience gained in a transport operations role, together with proven experience supervising teams and:
Knowledge of transport regulations and compliance standards in Australia.Understanding of cost management.Strong analytical, planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
