The West Coast Eagles is an iconic Australian sporting brand with over 100,000 members. The Club formed in August 1986, playing its first official match for premiership points in 1987. Our women's side played its first game for AFLW premiership points in February 2020. Since then, the club has enjoyed significant success, winning premierships in 1992, 1994, 2006, and 2018. The club also has wide-spanning community and regional programs and is invested in a number of charity organisations, including the Waalitj Foundation.Working at the ClubThe Club is situated in a state-of-the-art training and administration building located in Lathlain. The role is most effective when the prevention and promotion of health and wellbeing guides the actions of the PDM. Finally, the role requires a connector – a person who is an active, and strategic collaborator linking the career and personal development outcomes of the players with stakeholders.The key accountabilities include:Player Transition.Environmental and cultural wellbeing drivers.AFL-AFLPA player wellbeing priorities and programs.Relocation of early career AFL players.The AFL Industry Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024-2027 and Australia's High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy are useful documents to gain insights into the context of the accountabilities performed.Due to the nature of the industry and this role, there is an inherent requirement to work hours to accommodate a weekly schedule, including match days.Our ideal personThis role will suit an individual with strong inter-personal skills who can build trust and respect. Additionally, you will have:Experience in a well-being program.Experience in an elite or professional sport setting.Experience in the delivery of career counselling.Communication skills to create engagement in a multidisciplinary team and across an organisation.Value and understand diversity and inclusion principles.Experience in and/or an understanding of the elite player life cycle.Collaborative approach to the development and implementation of well-being plans.Current or the capability to build a network within the AFL industry, the West Australian business and education sector(s), and with the WCE host family network.Qualifications in counselling, well-being, or career development will be considered favourably.How to applyClick on "Apply" to complete an application form via the Club's website.
