The Plant Systems Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the Villawood manufacturing plants Aveva-based (also known as WonderWare or WW) and related automation systems and manufacturing equipment. This is a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing operations through effective system integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation of all plant systems components. The role also includes the development and implementation of manufacturing systems projects, digital transformation, Internet of Things (IoT), automation and software applications.
Manage, maintain, troubleshoot and modify Aveva (WW) InTouch and InBatch, related to process and/or recipe changes.Add/modify/write PLC code for changes to the Making system process and equipment adhering to global plant systems policies.Manage and maintain WW MES client modules and Recipe Manager.Maintain all reports connected to the Plant Systems database (DB) and coordinate with local integrators, Regional / Global Plant Systems for updates and correction as necessary.Responsible for, with the help of IT, all the PCs, servers, and networks that are on the manufacturing network.Lead the implementation and management of site projects related to automation digital transformation, considering people, processes and systems in the implementation.Application of updates and global developments to the productive hardware and software of the plant.Provide training and assist with analysis and troubleshooting of plant floor systems.Document solutions and update the knowledge database.Provide orientation and training to plant operations to encourage the usage of systems.Apply rules that guarantee global consistency of manufacturing systems.Work with IT, Maintenance Engineers and/or Project Engineers in order to define new processes and system capabilities that will improve efficiencies of the operation.Establish and maintain close communication with the Sr. Manager, Regional WCS South Pacific and APAC Supply Chain Manufacturing System to review new implementations and/or to adhere to global guidelines.Lead and manage Cybersecurity related activities in the manufacturing systems including regular security (Tanium) patching of manufacturing servers in accordance with security guidelines.Establish and maintain open communication with plant operational, engineering, maintenance and planning teams.Other duties as required.Required (Education, Knowledge required, Language skills, etc) Bachelor of Engineering degree in a relevant engineering field (Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical)5+ years experience in engineering/automation Experience with FMCG plant systemsSCADA systems knowledgePLC programmingExperience with SQL database and reporting toolsKnowledge of industrial networks and protocols (Devicenet, Modbus, OPC, EthernetIP, ASi, etc)Preferred Requirements: Experience in Aveva (WW System Platform, Intouch, Historian)Windows Server PlatformRockwell Thin ManagerNutanix / VMWare knowledgeExperience with integrating AGV's, SAP, PLCCompensation and Benefits
Salary Range $ - $ USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
