Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities You will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and machine rebuilds. These roles are a great opportunity to contribute to productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in Truck, Field and Mobile equipment maintenance areas of our business.
You will be working on a range of OEM fleet including Komatsu, Cat, Hitachi and NHL Trucks as well as Water Carts, Graders, Track Dozer, Scrapers, Service Trucks, Letourneau Loaders, Liebherr & Hitachi Excavators, P&H 4100XPC Shovels, Draglines and Drills whilst working the rotating 4/5 lifestyle roster.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:
Essential Criteria:
• Plant Mechanic Trade Qualification or equivalent;
• Proven Heavy Industry experience;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Proven ability to work safely in a team environment;
• Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving across the Truck and Mobile fleet;
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality of work;
• Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
Desirable criteria:
• SAP experience;
• Previous OEM Experience;
• Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets);
• Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process.
