The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the chemical and enzymatic depolymerisation plant's operations, including production, maintenance, safety, and quality control. The role will initially oversee the Mitchell facility but will transition to overseeing the greenfield Jerrabomberra site from mid-2025. Both sites are prototype, R&D facilities. Expect regular changes and upgrades. Think F1 – if there's a better, faster way, we'll introduce it quickly and expect results fast. This role will suit a curious, dynamic, hands-on person with a keen interest in innovative science and engineering. A production manager looking to step up, or a person with an engineering, technical, quality or R&D background with some operational experience would also be well suited to this role. This role will be based in Mitchell, ACT for the first 4-5 months, and will then move to Jerrabomberra in NSW, just over the ACT border. The role will be full-time 5 days a week on site. Your key priorities in the next 12-24 months will be to... Operational Management: Oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, and quality control. Collaborative R&D: Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and support staff to implement improvements and changes safely, systematically and at pace. Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Team Leadership: Manage and lead a small team of production team leaders, operators, and maintenance staff. Project Management: Lead and coordinate projects, ensuring timely and successful completion. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, project progress, and safety compliance. Culture: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the plant. Ideally you will have... Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is highly regarded. Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical or fast-moving consumer goods manufacturing, with at least 2 years in an operations management role. This role would suit a production manager stepping up to a plant leadership role, or a person with a quality, technical or R&D background with a few years of operations management experience under their belt. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
