About the company:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Officer to join an education body on a 3-month fixed-term contract, starting ASAP until the end of January 2025. This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday. The company is based on the edge of the CBD and offers flexible working, with 3 days in the office & 2 from home.
Key Responsibilities:Support demographic and enrolment analysis and contribute to strategic planning.Work with local councils and authorities to obtain necessary planning approvals.Assist in identifying and analyzing new sites, including capital development.Provide general planning advice.Skills & Experience:Proven experience in using GIS software (preferably QGIS).Expertise in demographic analysis, enrolment forecasting, and statutory planning.Demonstrated successful experience in provision planning at a strategic level and/or projects and knowledge of demographic trends and residential development in Melbourne and Victoria.Good interpersonal communication skills, and good formal presentation skills with the ability to communicate with all levels.Tertiary qualifications in Geography, Urban Planning, Mapping or Geospatial Science.Benefits:Enjoy a hybrid work arrangement with flexible options—3 days in the office and 2 days from home.Gain valuable experience in strategic planning and GIS software within the education sector.Be part of a supportive team of 6, reporting directly to the team leader and contributing to impactful projects.If this sounds interesting or you would like to hear more, please apply online with your CV, including a cover letter.
