Department of Primary Industries and Regions Job reference: 628364 Location: 5065 - GLENSIDE Job status: Short Term Contract Eligibility: Open to Everyone The Opportunity We have an opportunity for a Planning Officer to join our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Planning Officer is part of the Fruit Fly Response Program within the Biosecurity Division of PIRSA.
The primary purpose of the role is to assist the Manager, Program Solutions contribute to the goals and objectives of the Fruit Fly Emergency Response Program by providing support as part of the Response's Program Solutions Team.
The position contributes to the development and maintenance of Response plans by supporting the Manager, Program Services to ensure that planning functions are delivered in accordance with PIRSA policy.
The position supports the Program Solutions service delivery and is responsible for aspects of the PIRSA Emergency Management Document Set and supporting documents to meet state and national Biosecurity Emergency Management obligations.
The position is also required to exercise technical expertise and judgement to deal with issues relating to emergency management documentation/planning.

Special Conditions Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment. Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit). Opportunity up to December 2025. Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Requirements Possession of a current driver's license and willingness to drive. Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required. You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role. The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies. Remuneration ASO6 - $98,478 min - $104,165 max per annum, plus superannuation
