Our client, an international law firm with a strong presence in Australia, is seeking a talented Mid-Level Planning/Environment Lawyer to join their team in Sydney.

The team focuses on advising high profile corporate developer and council clients on major, long term, development projects. Within the team, your front end planning law skills will have the opportunity to develop in relation to the rezoning of land, the negotiation of Voluntary Planning Agreement, and the resolution of complex and novel environmental and planning issues for greenfield and infill development projects – at Land and Environment Court litigation level if required.
Due to the current make-up of the team, there is currently a vacancy for a junior-mid-level lawyer to join this prominent Planning, Environment and Government practice. In order to be considered for this role, you will have:
Probably around 2-5 years' post-qualification experience in planning and environment law (most likely gained from a well-regarded New Zealand or Australian law firm);Willingness to learn and the ability to work hard along with a common sense, down-to-earth approach;First rate drafting skills;Commerciality, and the ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment; andThe ability to deal with clients and colleagues in a relaxed and confident manner.This is a sensational opportunity for a New Zealand or Australian lawyer to move to a very highly regarded Sydney team.
