ARE YOU A PLANNER WITH A PASSION FOR OPEN SPACES AND PARKLANDS? $100,107.84 - $106,175.89 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation. This is a Permanent Full time position based at our Principal Depot in Charlton. About the position The Senior Open Space Planner, within the Parks & Recreation team, will be responsible for providing specialist professional advice and strategic leadership to influence the future of the open space network across the nationally recognised Garden City, Toowoomba, and the greater Toowoomba Region. Working under limited direction, the position will plan, develop, implement, evaluate and report on key policies, strategies and plans, helping shape the current and future open space network to support our growing community. You will have the ability and experience to consider legislation requirements, recreation opportunities and trends, and streetscape values to build upon enhance and build upon our existing networks across the Toowoomba Region.
About Us The Parks & Recreation Team are the secret behind our region's beautiful parks and gardens. We oversee an expansive regional landscape, encompassing the thriving urban centre of Toowoomba (the Garden City), and the vibrant regional hubs of Oakey, Pittsworth, Millmerran, Highfields, Crow's Nest, Clifton, Greenmount, Goombungee, and Yarraman.
With over 7000 hectares of public gardens, bushland park, sports and recreation facilities, open spaces and an extensive urban forest, the Toowoomba region is well known for its liveability and green infrastructure. Parks and Recreation plans, develops and maintains our beautiful green infrastructure. We nurture our rich traditions by looking after our heritage-listed sites, while realising our bold ambitions as we keep up with strong growth across the region.
Our team is a diverse mix of approximately 200 people working as labourers, gardeners, arborists, horticulturalists, plant operators, rangers, cleaners, project managers, landscape architects, administrators, regulators and their managers and leaders. This position plays a key role in working closely with everyone across this diverse range of people to provide a highly valued service to our community.
