Producing more than 250,000 ounces of gold each year, Gold Fields' Agnew mine site is located in the Eastern Goldfields region.It is situated 23 km west of Leinster, 375 km north of Kalgoorlie, and almost 1000km from Perth.Gold Fields acquired the mine in 2001, and gold is sourced from underground operations and processed via the CIP plant.Most of the Agnew workforce reside in Perth and work at the mine via a fly-in/fly-out roster.Role Details:Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning at Agnew, you will be responsible for facilitating the safe and optimal extraction of gold from underground mining operations.
In compliance with site environmental and safety standards, you will be responsible for all mining aspects, including delivering detailed mine plans and designs required to meet short, medium and long-term mine plans.This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.Benefits include:6% Site Allowance & Private Health Insurance AllowanceQuarterly Bonus SchemeIncreased annual leave entitlements plus Employee Assistance ProgramLong service leave pro-rata after 5 years of continuous serviceAbout the role:Assist in the preparation of medium- and long-term plans and forecasts;Prepare underground design optimisation, level and stope designs, and level extraction notes;Ensure mine plans are completed considering ventilation, infrastructure and pastefill requirements;Prepare the 3-month rolling schedule and report on end-of-month compliance to plan;Assist in briefing production personnel on new stopes being developed and liaise with Supervisors;Maintain a medium-term plan in the final design stage, and a long-term plan in the preliminary design stage in Deswik;Liaise with the Production Engineers for short-term schedule implementation;Direct and lead all members of the technical and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication.About you:Possess a completed tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related disciplineCompleted or have the ability to obtain WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of CompetencyProven underground engineering experience, with exposure to all production phases, preferably goldExperience in mentoring and developing the capability of junior and graduate engineersMicrosoft Office, Deswik CAD experience is an advantageExposure to Deswik Scheduler and Ventsim is desirableValid manual driver's licenceApplications can be submitted via: https://careers.goldfields.com/AustraliaGold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
