This includes overseeing development facilitation projects, renewable energy facilities, social and affordable housing, large-scale developments in Melbourne's central city (including Docklands, Southbank, and Carlton), Fishermans Bend, Central Geelong, Central Dandenong, non-government schools across Victoria, and the Alpine resorts. The Branch also provides statutory planning advice to support broader initiatives within the Planning and Land Services Group and the Department.Facilitate and deliver quality, technically competent and timely advice on all aspects of planning applications, planning scheme amendments, priority projects and statutory planning matters having regard to planning processes and land use, development, built form and amenity issues.Produce planning assessment reports and briefs and advice on development approvals, priority projects, planning processes and urban planning issues to inform decision making.Provide advice to senior management on complex development and built form issues and solutions and prepare assessment reports, Ministerial briefings, on time, and that demonstrate an understanding of the policy, political and legal context.Foster key stakeholder relationships and partnerships within the department and with other government agencies and key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of advice and assessments.The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a Planner to deliver sustainable and impactful solutions in line with organisational values and legal obligations. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to address complex challenges and deliver quality planning outcomes for the state of Victoria.You will apply critical thinking, strong communication, and persuasive skills to gain support for proposals and provide advice to inform decision-making.
