In this role, you would be part of our larger multidisciplinary team that will provide functional assessments, pain management, and education with a particular emphasis on geriatric person-centred care.Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Administer muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests to identify and assess physical problems of patients.
Design, implement and evaluate restorative/re-enablement physiotherapy interventions treatment programs to address patients' problems.
Assess, treat and prevent patients' disorders in human movement caused by injury or disease to reduce pain, improve circulation, strengthen muscles, improve cardiothoracic, cardiovascular and respiratory functions, restore joint mobility, and improve balance and coordination.
Use the therapeutic properties of exercise, heat, cold, massage, and electrotherapy in the treatment of patients.
Review, continually monitor, assess and evaluate programs and treatments.
Consult with other Health Professionals as required about patients' problems, needs and progress.
Instruct patients and their families in procedures to be continued at home.
Record treatments given and patients' responses and progress.
Develop and implement screening and preventative health promotion programs.
Implement and design falls prevention strategies and including exercise groups.
Staff and care recipient education i.e., manual handling training and assessments.
Provide safe mobility assessment and recommendations for residents.
Complete falls reviews, mobility reviews, initial assessments and general physiotherapy reviews to a high standard.
You'll Need:
Current full registration with AHPRA.
A current Police Record Check.
Evidence of current working rights in Australia.
Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Physiotherapy.
Demonstrated ability to complete comprehensive assessments, plan, implement treatments and evaluate care.
Current Covid and Flu vaccinations.
Desirable Skills:
Excellent communication skills.
Enjoy working with geriatric or elderly clients.
Minimum 2 years' experience in physiotherapy.
