About the role Mater Pathology is seeking a highly skilled paediatric collector to join our team. Mater Pathology understands the unique needs of families that cannot easily access collection centres in the community. This exciting mobile phlebotomist role gives you the opportunity to work in varied collection settings such as house calls, hospital wards, nursing homes and collection centres. This opportunity will give the successful candidate the ability to learn new skills such as intravenous cannulation and arterial blood gases collection. The successful candidate must be reliable, capable to work independently, confident to drive anywhere within Gold Coast or Brisbane area, available to work up to 38h a week and will embrace Mater's values.
As a Mater Pathology Phlebotomist you will be providing a high level of customer service and care to patients through phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen management, exceptional customer service and administrative skills. The management of specimens in the pre-analytical stage ensures the delivery of quality samples for testing that leads to timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities: Collection of blood samples from adults, children, and infants, including blood, urine, swabs, and skin.Advise clients on any special requirements prior to test procedures.Registration of patients using the pre-analytical management system.Maintain equipment, consumables, and work areas in a clean, safe and well-resourced state.Deliver customer experience of a high standard by ensuring a professional appearance and positive personal interaction.Promote the philosophy of health care and values of Mater Health Services.Provide excellent patient care and a strong commitment to customer service.Maintain quality of service as per ISO 17025 accreditation and AS/NZS ISO/9001 2000 standards.About you To be considered suitable for this position you must possess the following:
