The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.Carry out a range of functions relating to the regulation of manufacture, distribution and use of drugs and poisons in Tasmania:Assess applications and issue permits, licences and authorities for the possession, supply and use of drugs of dependence and other substances as required by legislation and policies.Provide advice, support and education to prescribers and suppliers of drugs of dependence on appropriate prescribing and supply practices.Assist in developing and maintaining computerised information systems for supporting appropriate drug use.Undertake inspection, audit and investigation functions in relation to manufacture, storage, distribution and use of drugs of dependence, medicines, poisons and therapeutic products on a statewide basis.The Pharmaceutical Services Branch team:Is a professional team with a wide range of skilled staff, including regulatory pharmacists, policy experts, administration, and visiting medical officers.Is a responsive and risk-based regulator with a focus on ongoing professional development in contemporary regulatory practice.Administers the Tasmanian poisons legislation across a broad range of industries and settings.Details of AppointmentFixed term, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.Salary: $106,966 - $123,013 per annum.
