JOB TITLE: HR LEAD
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead on employee and industrial relation activities in Australia in accordance with Petrofac policies and procedures. Focus on employee development, contract management, performance management, employee orientation, grievance handling, dispute resolution, separation formalities and continuous development of HR processes and systems, whilst ensuring HR best practice. Provide direct advice and guidance to the in-country management team and employees. Liaise with external bodies, including union officials. Supervise and oversee all new employment formalities and engagement processes. Manage all local HR case management in relation to an employee grievance, disciplinary or dispute. Lead HR-related investigations, ensuring internal procedures and procedural fairness is followed at all times, providing guidance and support to the local leadership team, recommending remedies and solutions as required. Represent the business at any Fair Work (Employment Tribunal) conciliation matters, consulting with external legal counsel for complex matters. Provide guidance and act as a consultant to line managers on the implementation of employee relations procedures. Ensure the local business is compliant with all local laws and labour regulations, compensation, and fair treatment of employees. Lead the negotiation of any new collective Employment Agreement's and renegotiation of existing Enterprise Agreements. Coach the business's departmental heads and management team in performance management processes, compensation and remuneration programs, recruitment practices, and management decision-making. Develop, maintain, and update HR policies and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Respond to employee-related queries and provide answers to all HR-related inquiries and requests. Create statistical reports concerning employee-related data to local leadership team, highlighting trends. Support the local leadership team in the identification of suitable internal/external training based upon an assessment of business needs. Feed back to the in-country management team and wider HR community on best practices and HR trends in-country. Contribute to due diligence, transition and transfer of undertaking exercises ensuring effective communication and compliance. Develop and create HR and industrial relation requirements for any bid/tender activities, as required. Day-to-day supervision of the local HR Advisor. Careful management of multiple subcontractor Employee and Industrial Relations, ensuring they operate in accordance with their HRIR contractual obligations. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Degree & ideally Chartered Member of the CIPD and AHRI. Proven and successful experience in influencing senior management and departmental heads in the adoption of ultimately beneficial people management policies and procedures. Effective negotiation, influencing and coaching skills. Commercial awareness to support the business in making key decisions and understanding the implications of this. An ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, and able to handle multiple projects. Ability to be discreet when dealing with confidential information. Have a keen eye for detail whilst being results-oriented and able to stay calm under pressure and in uncertainty, inspiring the same in their team. Able to form strong connections with others, earning their trust, and hence being able to influence even the highest level of management in the business. O&G / energy sector experience is required, plus exposure to 'blue collar' / unionised environments. International experience or having previously worked in a multinational organisation would be an advantage. Extensive experience managing Employee and Industrial Relations. Deep knowledge of Employment Legislation, including but not limited to the Fair Work Act, EEO discrimination legislation, WHS legislation. Expert knowledge in industrial relations, negotiation and bargaining strategies and human resource principles and practices. #J-18808-Ljbffr
