Personal Assistant to the Principal

St Columba Anglican School Port Macquarie is a co-educational ELC - 12 campus set on 37 picturesque acres in the heart of Port Macquarie's Education Precinct. Our staff work with students and families who are optimistic, aspirational, and engaged in a nurturing educational community.Beginning in mid-November 2024 for orientation and handover, or as negotiated with the successful candidate, the School is seeking to appoint an experienced, high-performing Executive Assistant to support the Principal. The Personal Assistant to the Principal will provide high-level confidential administrative support to the Principal, work autonomously to represent the Principal and the School to internal and external stakeholders, and assist the Principal to remain accessible for matters that require direct involvement.Your warm and approachable manner along with your professionalism and discretion will be key to your success in this role.The Personal Assistant to the Principal is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Principal's Office, playing a proactive role in ensuring administrative responsibilities are undertaken in an efficient, professional, and timely manner. This is a full-time ongoing position with some requirement to work over the school term breaks.What you bringSubstantial experience in an Executive Assistant role with experience providing complex administrative support in a high-profile environment with tact and diplomacy.Demonstrated initiative in completing tasks to tight deadlines and the flexibility to handle constantly changing priorities and unexpected demands.Exceptional organisational skills with an eye for detail.Proven ability to collaborate, partner, and build effective and professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal).Professionalism of the highest standard and outstanding personal presentation.Demonstrated capacity to maintain discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential matters.Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of database management systems as well as the capacity to learn and use in-house database systems.Similar experience in an independent school is desirable.The successful applicant willHave initiative, a can-do positive attitude, and the ability to balance multiple competing priorities, meet timeframes, and perform in a high-pressure environment with limited direction.Be highly organised, confident in a fast-paced environment, adept at multitasking, and able to triage and reprioritise tasks to complete them in a timely manner.Have judgment and discretion, recognise and resolve issues ahead of time, and anticipate and respond to the needs of the Principal's office.Demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change.Be highly approachable and a relationship builder who can negotiate confidently with a range of key internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrate a commitment to supporting the Christian values, Anglican ethos, and culture of the School.Additional InformationSt Columba Anglican School has a zero tolerance policy for child abuse and is committed to promoting child safety, children's wellbeing, and protecting children from abuse.
