As we embark on a major new project in the Northwest starting in early 2025, we are seeking an experienced People, Plant and Supplies Logistics Manager to lead the logistics function for a key project.
As Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all logistical tasks required to mobilise plant and equipment to our Client's supply base in Perth and to manage the transportation of personnel to and from site.
Additionally, you will oversee the process of getting equipment and plant through our Client's quarantine requirements, ensuring compliance with strict safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
You will manage a team consisting of a Logistics Coordinator and a Project Administrator, providing leadership and guidance to ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery of resources to support the project.
Key Responsibilities:Logistics management: Oversee the mobilisation and transportation of plant, equipment, and personnel to our client's supply base and project site, including planning for air, land, and sea transport.Quarantine management: Lead the coordination of cleaning and quarantine clearances for plant and equipment in line with the project site protocols.Team leadership: Manage a Logistics Coordinator and Project Administrator, providing direction and support to ensure that logistics activities are executed efficiently and on schedule.Supply chain management: Work closely with suppliers, transport companies, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless delivery of materials, equipment, and personnel.Compliance with regulations: Ensure all transportation and logistics operations comply with Western Australia's regulations and safety standards for heavy industry transport, including quarantine and environmental compliance.FIFO management: Oversee the logistics of Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) personnel to the project site, ensuring all workers are safely transported and accommodated in accordance with project requirements.Communication & reporting: Serve as the key point of contact for all logistics-related matters, maintaining clear communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Provide regular status reports and updates on logistics progress and any issues.Budget management: Manage logistics budgets, track costs, and ensure efficient use of resources to meet project timelines and financial targets.Problem-solving: Proactively identify and resolve any logistical challenges or delays that may arise during the transportation and mobilization of resources.Experience and Qualifications: Experience in Project Logistics (land, air, and sea), with a proven track record of managing complex logistics operations in large-scale projects.Experience in managing cleaning and quarantine clearances for plant and equipment, particularly in compliance with stringent industry regulations.Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication, to coordinate effectively with teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders.Experience in managing the logistics of FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) projects, including personnel transport and accommodation.Experience with heavy plant and machinery, including transportation and mobilisation for large industrial projects.A good understanding of WA's transportation regulations, compliance, and safety standards for heavy industry and industrial transportation.We deliver our projects with the highest regard to safety and innovation.
