Fixed Term Contract for 12 months, Full time Join the People & Culture team.

The People & Partnerships Business Partner is a trusted advisor, working in partnership with managers and staff to provide specialist advice and support and develop contemporary people initiatives, plans, and solutions across a range of People and Culture activities.

What you'll be doing:
Develop and sustain trusted partnerships with leaders and provide specialist advice on People and Culture functions and processes including recruitment and selection, employment terms and conditions, EEO and anti-discrimination, workplace bullying and sexual harassment, performance management, change management, job evaluation and remuneration structure.
Provide advice and support to enable effective case management of workplace conflict, grievances and disputes and other complex people matters, with support from OHS and RTW specialists (when required) to mitigate organisation risk.
Suggest and promote creative ideas and approaches to improve individual and team performance and encourage and support others to take on new challenges and opportunities.
Provide high level expertise on Enterprise Agreement interpretation matters and advice on implementation issues.
Coach and advise managers on the procedural and legislative requirements of their roles to support capability development and compliance.
Maintain current knowledge and understanding of Fair Work Act and other related legislation and regulations and provide advice and assist with representation for Council in the Fair Work Commission and industry forums.
Contribute to People & Culture initiatives, which may include organisational change and consultation, organisation development, HR analytics, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion and learning and development.
Respond to workplace relations related queries and provide sound information and timely advice.
Provide advice on remuneration issues and undertake relevant salary remuneration surveys and benchmarking in conjunction with current salary data and trends.
Respond to requests for reports, policies, technical and operational advice in the areas of employee relations and generalist HR.
Promote and support a harmonious and productive organisational culture and environment and develop effective processes for ongoing management of change throughout the Organisation.
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
Demonstrated experience in HRM relevant to this position, including a sound understanding of strategic HRM processes, systems and techniques required in supporting the organisation's business objectives.
Demonstrated ability to manage and participate in projects relating to the development, implementation and review of major organisational HR policies, issues, and initiatives.
Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing HR policies, systems, and procedures.
Analytical, investigative, and conceptual skills and knowledge of human resource management and the ability to solve new complex problems and to make decisions that reflect a thorough and appropriate evaluation of needs, policies, goals, and alternative consequences.
Strong understanding of legal requirements, Acts and regulations associated with all human resource management functions, as well as budgetary requirements.
Provide specialist advice in regard to Award terms, conditions of employment, legislative requirements, and the application of sound HR practices.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare and present concise, well-structured reports and information to management and staff across Council.
Required Certifications & Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in a discipline relevant to human resource management (HRM) or extensive experience in HRM.
