About the role
The role of People and Culture (P&C) Data and Governance Consultant is newly created and sits within the P&C Operations team. The P&C Data and Governance Consultant will work closely with the P&C Data and Governance Lead in shaping and growing data management and governance in line with core obligations and our data landscape. The incumbent will collaborate with the P&C team as well as broader areas across the business such as cyber, risk, compliance and privacy to ensure we achieve our overall company objectives.
Day-to-day, you will:
Input into and manage data governance frameworks, policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Support delivery of data quality and remediation initiatives including management of information asset register.
Work collaboratively with other internal teams and consultants and support building the data catalogue.
Support the creation of the data model, data glossaries and data definitions so information is easy to find, use and is trusted.
Support capability uplift in relation to data, privacy, risk and cyber security.
Generate and analyze key data governance metrics to measure effectiveness and communicate with key stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders to enable them to develop and manage data.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:
Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in data management, data governance, and/or vendor management.
A degree in Information Management, Business Analytics, Information Science, Data Management or related disciplines is preferred.
Well-established knowledge of data governance concepts, data obligations, data quality and compliance regulations (including data privacy).
Familiarity with data management frameworks and proficiency in data analysis tools.
Skills in critical thinking, analytical ability and problem solving, with the ability to overlay business acumen to develop insights and recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work cross-functionally and collaborate with a variety of people and teams.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to consult and influence as needed with employees and stakeholders.
