About the role
Laing O'Rourke is the Managing Contractor for the Initial Works and Early Works package of Suburban Rail Loop; the huge package of works includes preparing sites for the launch of tunnel boring machines, moving and protecting underground services, ground improvement, geotechnical investigations and roads modifications for this city-shaping project.
We are currently seeking an experienced People Advisor to join the iconic Suburban Rail Loop project. This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.
Key responsibilities
Provide timely and accurate HR/IR advice and guidance.
Facilitate and support with performance development, performance management and disciplinary processes.
Support the People Lead in development and implementation of proactive employee engagement and retention strategies.
Actively contribute to the achievement of the people business plan and more.
Support all HR activities across the project including all employment lifecycle, supporting resource planning, workforce development, employee development and engagement.
Provide support to initiatives that align with the delivery of the project's Workforce Development and Industry Participation Strategy and Plan.
About you
Minimum of 5+ years experience in a generalist Human Resources Advisory role.
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and influence decision making to achieve necessary outcomes.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic and respectful manner.
A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
Experience within the construction industry is ideal but not essential.
