About the Role:
Are you a dedicated PE teacher seeking a fresh opportunity? A reputable F-9 school in Tarneit, nestled in Melbourne's Western suburbs, is seeking a passionate PE/Health teacher to join in a full-time capacity, in a welcoming and supportive teaching and learning environment in 2025. With approximately 1000 students spanning from years F-9, this role offers integration into a dynamic school community.
Key duties: Designing and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum.Providing clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises.Teaching a range of topics related to physical education including health and well-being, nutrition, mental health, and personal development.Conducting physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.Organizing and maintaining PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.Integrating health education components into PE lessons to promote students' understanding of health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and the benefits of physical activity.Assessing students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.Skills & Experience: Have unrestricted working rights in AustraliaCompleted relevant qualifications in EducationCurrent VIT registrationDemonstrate previous experience in teaching PE in AustraliaAbility to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).Offering: Teaching students across 7-9Commencement from in Term 1, 2025Join a school community that is actively growing and evolvingReceiving a salary commensurate with your demonstrated expertise, within the range of $76,000 to $116,000The School: F-9 school with around 1000 studentsApproachable management team and smaller team structuresWell respected school within the local communityCollaborative planning model with professional development opportunitiesHow to apply:
