Our client is a community focused local council, currently seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join their growing team.
In this full-time permanent position, you'll be reporting directly to the Financial Operations Manager and will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Payroll function.
As part of this role, you will demonstrate excellent leadership and people management skills as you will be responsible for overseeing the function and leading a team of 5 payroll specialists.
This is a council with a long-standing history and a diverse workforce.
Experience working in a large and complex environment will be highly desirable and benefit you in this role.
The organisation is also going through a period of growth and process improvement, so if you enjoy a challenge and working on BAU and Projects, this is a great opportunity for you.
Main responsibilities:
Manage the entire end-to-end Payroll function to produce a fortnightly payroll service to the organisation.Promote a culture of high performance, integrity and professionalism within your team.Partner with key business stakeholders to continually transform the payroll function.Project manage all payroll related projects including the coordination of payroll system enhancements, upgrades and testing.Work closely with the Financial Operations Manager and the Financial Services Leadership Group, to meet the strategic objectives.To be successful in this role, you will have a deep understanding of the complete payroll function and demonstrated experience in a Senior Payroll position.
You will have a customer focused mindset and will be a person people feel comfortable working with and learning from.
Experience working in a large, complex organisation with multiple awards is highly desirable.
