We are seeking a talented Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for managing and processing end to end payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
You will also assist in financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable when required, financial reporting, and reconciliations.DutiesManaging the end to end fortnightly payrollCalculating correct employee pay by considering hours worked, split shift allowances, taxes, workcover, superannuation and other factorsProcessing electronic employee payments on a fortnightly basisProcessing holiday, sick, maternity and paternity leave paymentsAnswering employee questions about their timesheets and payslipsProcessing PAYG deductions and sending payroll information to ATOObtaining and verifying direct debit banking information, tax file number and Superannuation details from employeesChecking timesheets within HumanForce to verify rostered hours and contracted hours are completeDevelop and review payroll policies and procedures and ensure they are current and remain fit for purpose.Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reportsDistribution of fortnightly payslips to employeesOnboarding and Offboarding of employeesInvolvement in new payroll system implementationEnsuring compliance with applicable payroll legislationWorking closely with the finance team to ensure all payroll aspects are compliant with the national law and regulations, including Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards (NES).Having in-depth knowledge of the Childrens Services Award MA000120Single Touch Payroll (STP) and Payroll tax reportingSuperannuation Guarantee compliance and increases applied.Annual leave, Personal Leave and LSL calculations.Workcover compliance in relevant States.Meeting reporting obligationsEnsuring all work cover requirements are submitted timely, including annual wage declarations and estimationsPAYG reportingSuperannuation reportingSkills & QualificationsA clear understanding of payroll laws, taxes and PAYG proceduresStrong verbal communication, including active listening, for accurately answering employee questionsHigh level of mathematical skillsKnowledge of economics, accounting and other financial conceptsComputer literacy, especially confidence using office and payroll software such as Excel with VLOOKUP and MYOB PayrollSelf-motivation and organisational skills to meet deadlinesInitiative and ambition to develop professionallyA qualification in the relevant field is desiredTo apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and explaining why you are the ideal candidate for this position.TheirCare is an equal opportunity employer.
