There are two permanent, full-time positions available for immediate filling. Payroll Services is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic leader, who is passionate about payroll, self-motivated with great ideas, enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced and busy environment for a large department. About the role Do you have exceptional leadership skills and payroll knowledge? Do you love a challenge and are solutions-focused with a positive can-do attitude? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you as the Payroll Portfolio Coordinator with the Department of Justice.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can influence and bring about change in a challenging environment. As part of the Payroll Services leadership team, you will be able to connect to the strategic direction of Human Resources and successfully impart vision to the team to bring them along. You will have strong networking skills and be able to use those to progress change within the team and external business areas.

The Department uses Dayforce A-Pay (formerly Ascender) to manage over 7000 employees covered by approximately 20 industrial awards and agreements, plus others covered by special administrative arrangements and Acts, so an ability to quickly absorb information and apply it to payroll processes is essential in leading the team.

About you You are a proven leader who can impart strategic direction and guide the team. You enjoy identifying and developing business improvements. You are driven to make change by improving processes and practices. You enjoy being part of a large productive team that works in a fast-paced environment. To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed-term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract.

All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
