04th April, 2024Payroll OfficerPermanent Part Time - 60.8 hours/8 days per fortnightPayroll Officer Level 4 | $31 to $35/hour(re-advertised)About the Opportunity:St Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital (SATH) has exciting opportunities to join our Payroll team, who provide hands-on end to end payroll services for approximately 750 private hospital employees, including nurses, administration and support services staff.About you:You are keen to utilize your skills and experience to pay our hardworking teams accurately, playing a crucial support role in providing excellent service and care to our patients. You appreciate the sense of achievement after finalizing an accurate payroll each fortnight. You are detail orientated and enjoy working with a small dedicated, dynamic and supportive team of professionals in a renowned regional independent not for profit private hospital.Role Accountabilities:Payroll Processing : Accurately process a fortnightly payroll for all hospital employees, ensuring all hours worked, leave taken, and other relevant data are recorded and calculated correctly whilst maintaining confidentiality and security of payroll data and compliance with privacy regulations.Data Management and Accuracy : Manually maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the payroll system, including personal information, salary details, and tax withholding allowances, and conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and take corrective actions as needed.Employee Support:Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll matters, including salary payments, deductions, salary packaging and tax withholding and provide guidance and assistance to employees on payroll-related policies and procedures.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with Finance, HR and other departments to exchange information and resolve payroll-related issues effectively and communicate payroll deadlines, changes, and updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in payroll processing, such as automation, system upgrades, or workflow optimizations and implement best practices and standardized procedures to streamline payroll operations and reduce manual errors.Your experience and skills:Experience in manually calculating leave entitlements, termination pays, back pays and coding timesheets by hand.An understanding of employment legislation and experience in working with various enterprise agreements.Well-developed communication skills to convey complex payroll information in a clear and understandable manner.Ability to prepare payroll reports for internal and external partners, using the electronic payroll system or other Microsoft software eg excel.Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload demands.Effective problem-solving skills and an ability to make timely and informed decisions whilst meeting strict deadlines.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Mandatory Qualification/Professional Registration/Other Requirements:Previous experience in payrollEngagement is subject to the applicant fully satisfying the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements and evidence must be produced as part of the recruitment process.Desirable:Previous experience using Micropay payroll systemOur Team:To ensure SATH is best positioned to achieve 'Excellence in Care and Service' it is essential our team members remain engaged and committed to providing exceptional care and service.Our staff are expected to align their behaviour and conduct with our Core Values of Respect, Dignity, Empathy, Courtesy, Fairness and Honesty.Team Member Benefits:Working with dedicated, experienced, and professional team membersOngoing professional development opportunitiesSalary packaging through REMSERVFree on-site carparkingExcess waiver up to $250 per annum if admitted as a patient to St Andrew'sEmployee Assistance Program for all team membersOur Commitment to Diversity:SATH is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.
