Details of the offer

Are you detail-oriented, organised, and skilled in payroll administration? We are seeking a Payroll Officer on behalf of our client, a reputable organisation, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring their staff are paid accurately and on time.
You will collaborate closely with the Supervisor to calculate salaries and wages according to awards, industrial Agreements, legislative requirements, and relevant policies. Ensuring accuracy and timeliness, you will verify information and documentation for completeness, processing them efficiently.
You'll provide accurate advice to managers and staff on pay and leave entitlements while maintaining superannuation and salary sacrifice schemes. Handling calculations and paperwork for employee commencements and terminations will also be part of your responsibilities, as well as preparing and processing payments to payroll creditors within required timeframes.
You will assist in administering the computerised HR/Payroll system (Aurion), including upgrades, testing, modifications, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Keeping payslips, pay summaries, and employee pay records reconciled and maintained in line with standards and legislation is crucial.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in payroll administration with a computerised payroll system, and the ability to interpret and apply awards and industrial agreements. Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the capability to prioritise tasks under strict deadlines, are essential. Attention to detail, accuracy, excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills are crucial for this role.
You should be able to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, exercising initiative and good judgement. Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information are imperative. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerised payroll systems, good written communication skills for basic research and documentation, and a satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last twelve months) are required. Experience with Workers Compensation and superannuation systems is desirable.
If you meet the above criteria and are looking for a challenging and rewarding role, we'd love to hear from you.
