About the role
As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire payroll function for a group of companies with the majority of its function within the education sector and as such will need prior experience with a STARS education finance and payroll organisation. This is ideally a permanent role located in Melbourne's CBD, however for the right person this could be a transformational contract if preferred.
What you'll be doing Managing the end-to-end payroll process for all employees of which there are international staff & students with agent payment systems. This will include processing timesheets, calculating salaries, and ensuring accurate and timely payment of wagesAdministering employee benefits, superannuation, and other payroll-related deductionsMaintaining accurate payroll records and preparing relevant reports for management and compliance purposesLiaising with HR and finance teams to ensure smooth integration of payroll dataStaying up to date with relevant payroll legislation and regulations, and implementing any necessary changesProviding training and support to the payroll team, and assisting with any queries or issues that may ariseAn audit of the current and past systems & processes to review what is best for the organisation going forward. Up to one day a week there will be the handling of the group company owners' finances also if this is to be a full time position.What we're looking for Minimum 5 years of experience in a payroll management or senior payroll officer role, preferably within the accounting professional services handling education clients or within the Education sector itself. Experience in both would be an added bonusStrong working knowledge of payroll software and systems, as well as Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements. International again an added bonusExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and timely payroll processingProficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software toolsAbility to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders, and provide outstanding customer serviceStrong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees and resolve payroll-related queriesWhat we offer
