Your new role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to join the Payroll team as Payroll and Remunerations Officer. The team is integral to ensuring accurate and timely administration of pay and entitlements for staff, ensuring that our people leaders are provided with timely and relevant information to support the management of their employee costs and entitlements. This role provides input and operational support to maximize the return on investment and functionality of the Aurion application whilst demonstrating a customer-focused, proactive, and solutions-based approach to meet functional and organizational objectives. This is a two-year fixed term, full-time opportunity with a monthly rostered day off (RDO). The band 6 salary range is from $82,922 to $89,577 per annum plus superannuation and will be negotiable based on experience.
What you'll need to succeed
This is a busy and challenging role, in which the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in interpreting complex documentation such as legislations, Awards, and Agreements, coupled with the ability to provide advice on complex matters in a confidential environment. Relevant experience working at a high level to deliver a computerized payroll service is required in order to successfully deliver a wide range of duties and responsibilities for the Payroll team, which include:
Ensure accurate and timely production of payroll, complying with statutory and Council requirements. Develop and maintain a Payroll Users' Manual including end to end work instructions. Provide advice to HR Advisors, Line Managers, and Supervisors on payroll workflow processes and procedures. Draft procedures and forms relating to payroll management under the direction of the Manager. Assist the Manager in analyzing, reviewing, and improving payroll processes and undertaking system maintenance. Provide Aurion systems training to internal customers as required. Ensure payroll information and responses to requests are handled confidentially and in accordance with Council's policies and the Information Privacy Act. Regularly reconcile and balance employee payroll deductions. Prepare Workers' Compensation claims reports for PIAWE (Pre-injury Average Weekly Earnings) for new claims and CWE (Current Weekly Earnings) for active claims to ensure reimbursements are correct in accord with Accident compensation Act, EBA or Award requirements on a fortnightly basis.
