Payroll & Finance Administration Officer Better Together Community Support is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers a variety of services ranging from counselling for families, young people and the elderly, through to home maintenance and modifications services, as well as delivering relief services to the general community through our community hub. Better Together is located in the scenic Atherton Tablelands about 1.5 hours away from Cairns, Queensland. Staff benefits include comprehensive salary sacrificing options and staff training budget.
About the role The successful applicant will work in Finance Team to process all fortnightly payrolls and all payroll related matters, to maintain accuracy and integrity of payroll system data, and to assist staff and management with all payroll related queries.
In addition, the role supports Accounts Receivable for our Commonwealth Home Support Program and back up for Accounts Payable. 
Position responsibilities Process the fortnightly payrolls within the required time frame. Process workers compensation claims, reconciling reimbursements and correspondence.  Calculation of termination benefits. Reconcile salary packaging accounts and liaise with the external provider.  Balance all payroll ledger accounts, including the posting of all payroll related journals. Prepare payroll reports.  Ensure the ATO and Superannuation payments are paid within the required time frames. Calculation of all annual leave and leave loading to be paid at the end of the calendar year. Calculation of staff leave entitlements, including long service leave, as required. End of financial year payroll processing. Including the balancing and production of payment summaries through STP. Production of salary and budget reports as required.  Streamlining of processes. Update and maintain payroll procedures. Interpretation and application of awards and enterprise agreement.  Raise and post invoices to clients for Accounts Receivable for Commonwealth Home Support Program. Answer queries from Clients on their invoices. Perform other accounts administrative duties where reasonably directed. Provide backup for the Accounts Payable position when needed. Personal Attributes
Good communication skills – both written and verbal. A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data. Collaborative nature and able to cooperate effectively in a teams-based environment. SELECTION CRITERIA Qualifications
C-Class Driver's License. Current Blue Card, or the capacity to obtain one. Current (12 months) National Police Check, or capacity to obtain one. Knowledge and Skills
Experience processing payroll for approximately 50-100 staff from beginning to end. Experience using MYOB software.  Experience in interpreting awards and enterprise agreements.  Ability to meet regular deadlines.  Understanding of SCHADS Award.
