About the role Viterra is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join our team on a permanent full-time capacity.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the primary responsibilities of the role include completing payroll processes and controls documentation, preparation and reporting of payroll deductions, review of processed payroll, completing SAP clearing, month end reconciliation, and payroll tax remittance.
Duties Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, back pay, bonuses, and deductions.Prepare payroll adjustments such as back pay, terminations, and leave payouts for payroll officer processing.Accurately calculate and process employee entitlements such as long service leave.Administer employee benefits such as salary packaging, novated leases, and fringe benefits tax (FBT).Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, including PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax.Administer payroll audits and resolve discrepancies as required.Ensure SAP clearing and balance sheet reconciliation is completed as required.Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.Respond to employee queries regarding payslips, tax, superannuation, and leave entitlements.Provide guidance to employees on payroll related matters.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the payroll function.Participate in system upgrades and training to ensure optimal use of Chris21.About you Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred).Diploma or Certificate in Payroll or Accounting.2-5 years of payroll experience in Australia.Experience with award interpretation, employment contracts, and payroll tax compliance.Proficiency in Chris21, SAP or other relevant payroll management systems.Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including PAYG and Superannuation.Sound knowledge of technology to support business and delivery of role.Experience with Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and compliance.Attention to detail for handling large volumes of payroll data with accuracy.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage discrepancies and payroll issues.Excellent communication skills to liaise with employees and other stakeholders regarding payroll queries.As well as providing an empowering culture, Viterra promotes a range of employee benefits including: Employee assistance program – access to confidential and free supportCorporate health insurance funds and financial servicesNovated leasingBirthday leaveYears of service recognitionRigorous safety practicesGender-inclusive paid parental leaveA supportive environment which prioritises respect and teamworkHow to apply To apply for the position please click on 'Apply' at the bottom of the page or for further information please contact HR Business Partner Maria Valiff on 08 8304 5***.
