Job Description: As a Pastry Cook, you will ensure a smooth production process by checking equipment cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations, assessing raw material quality, and accurately weighing ingredients. Your responsibilities include kneading, mixing, and shaping dough, preparing pastry fillings, and monitoring baking times. You will coordinate the baking and cooling of various products, glaze and decorate pastries and cakes, operate machinery for dough preparation, and maintain the cleanliness of all baking equipment. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are essential in this role. Qualifications & Experience: Certificate III including at least two years of experience, or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
Tasks and Duties include (but are not limited to): Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, including sponge cakes, cupcakes, carrot cakes, lamingtons, mud cakes, éclairs, honey rolls, and muffins. Create different types of creams and icings, such as mock cream, fresh cream, pink icing, raspberry dip, and lamington chocolate dip. Make sheet desserts, including apple slices, fruit slices, custard slices, chocolate slices, and coconut slices, followed by slicing and decorating them. Mix dough for long donuts, shape them to the required size, and cook them. Conduct cleanliness checks of equipment and premises to comply with occupational health and safety regulations. Assess the quality of raw materials and accurately weigh ingredients. Kneading, maturing, cutting, molding, mixing, and shaping dough and pastry goods. Preparing various pastry fillings. Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine optimal baking times. Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of batches of bread, rolls, and pastries. Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing. Operating machinery for rolling, molding dough, and cutting biscuits. Cleaning, greasing, and maintaining baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment. Job Types: Full-time, Contract
