The RoleThe Partnership Pillar Lead will oversee the engagement with selected Australian Government Entities (AGEs) aligned with the thematic priorities for the program.
They will employ strong diplomatic, interpersonal and collaborative skills to work with AGE officials, understand their perspectives and concerns, while also effectively communicating and advocating for alignment with other government agencies and departments.
They will work with AGEs to develop and implement activities and workplans, drawing on SEAG2G's design, partnership brokering, procurement and logistics, monitoring and evaluation and gender equality, disability inclusion capabilities as required.
They will support AGEs to engage effectively with their counterparts in Southeast Asian government agencies.
Program BackgroundThe Southeast Asia and Australia Government-to-Government Partnerships program (SEAG2G) is a new initiative contributing towards Australia's International Development Policy and Southeast Asia Development Partnership Plans.
It will also contribute towards implementation of Invested: Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.
SEAG2G provides significant new resources to deepen and broaden relationships between Australian and Southeast Asian countries across four thematic priorities: Climate change and energy transitionEducation and skillsSustainable agriculture and food securityEffective and inclusive public institutions SEAG2G will support Australian agencies to engage with their Southeast Asian counterparts through two workstreams:Workstream 1: Core Partners workstream: Multi-year support to a small group of AGE partners to work in one or more countries to deepen Australia's relationships with counterparts and contribute to institutional change in one or more thematic priorities.
Workstream 2: Country level workstream.
Demand-driven, smaller activities based on requests from Posts assessed and approved two times a year and to be delivered within a 12 to 18-month period.
The two outcomes of SEAG2G include: Broader and deeper partnerships between Australian and Southeast Asian government institutions in targeted areas of mutual interest.Southeast Asia Government Entities (SGE) improve policy and practice in identified thematic priority areas in support of economic and social development.
SEAG2G is led by DFAT's Office of Southeast Asia, with DT Global as the managing contractor.

For more information, please see Key ResponsibilitiesThe Partnership Pillar Lead will: Under the direction of the SEAG2G Partnerships Manager, identify, outreach and scope potential program partnerships between Australian agencies and their Southeast Asian counterparts, and facilitate these partnerships through design and delivery.
These may include bringing in third parties (for example, universities, private sector, civil society) to support activities under the leadership of Australian agencies.Australian agencies to design activities and proposals ensuring that gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) considerations and results measurement metrics are incorporated; develop work plans and implement those plans; and deliver reporting and compliance needs in line with G2G and DFAT requirements.Establish regular communication mechanisms with Australian agencies that ensure that agency staff are aware of G2G developments, as well as the activities of other Australian agencies.Facilitate a strong sense of collaboration and learning across Australian agencies through delivery of learning forums, training, and other sharing events; and development of communication products.Work closely with Australian agencies to capture high-quality reporting of progress towards agency and SEAG2G program outcomes.
As a member of the SEAG2G team, contribute to: program strategy development and work planning; integration of GEDSI, First Nation perspectives, environmental considerations and other cross-cutting issues; fostering of a collaborative team; and measurement of results and production of reports.
Click on the link or copy paste it to access the full Terms of Reference for this position: About youTo be successful, you will have the following: Experience negotiating government or private sector partnerships and driving multi-stakeholder collaborations, including an understanding of partnership brokering principles.
Experience working with the Australian Public Service, including an understanding of ways of working within government, and governance and decision-making structures.
Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, ideally including experience working with Southeast Asian government officials.
Knowledge and understanding of public policy issues, including current Australian development policies.
Experience working in one or more of the program's thematic priorities is desirable.Strong project management and organisational skills to ensure activities remain on track and that collaborative initiatives progress smoothly.
Highly developed interpersonal and cross-cultural skills and an instinct for collaboration, working within complex institutional structures complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills.Tertiary qualifications in international development, public policy or a relevant discipline is desirable.
