As the Business Manager for Technology & Data (T&D), you will be an integral part of the T&D Executive team, supporting the Executive Director and broader division in delivering business and strategic outcomes, transformation and change initiatives, and coordinating activities and key projects aligned with APRA's strategy.
The Business Manager works closely with the Executive team and other stakeholders across APRA to deliver on a range of responsibilities, along with leading the coordination of risk management and compliance practices, finance activities, performance reporting, and T&D governance.
A key focus will be helping to oversee the T&D transformation plan and building productive relationships with stakeholders executing the plan, such as APRA's Project Management Office.
The team
The role sits within the Technology & Data division and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). T&D manages frameworks, technology, and systems that support APRA and its mandate to help protect the Australian community through data-enabled decision-making.
Key responsibilities
Contributing to the development and implementation of the division's strategic goals and business plan.
Influencing, contributing to, and coordinating APRA-wide projects, playing a pivotal role in committees and leading change.
Leading the T&D executive office.
Ensuring the division's risk profile is up to date, and all compliance obligations are met, and controls are in place to mitigate operational risk.
Assisting the ED with ensuring that all people-related activities are proactively managed, developing and tracking metrics to ensure the effective operational performance of the division.
Managing the division's finances in conjunction with the Finance Partner.
Responsibility for divisional-wide events, coordinating leadership team meetings, Exec secretariat, and driving divisional communication and training initiatives.
Building relationships with other divisional Business Managers and key regulatory and industry representatives to ensure alignment with APRA's strategic objectives.
About you
As the successful candidate, you bring experience in developing and delivering strategic plans and managing the business operations of a function. You are highly proactive, have excellent organisational and leadership skills, and highly developed communication and leadership skills.
You have financial sector or similar experience, with a solid understanding of risk management and leading change, and the capacity to build working relationships quickly and influence at all levels of the organisation.
To work with us, you need to be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance.
